Blayne Radford - TC Graduate Honored

Blayne Radford is nothing less than a miracle!  At the very young age of six, Blayne was entrenched in an environment people only read about.  Cowboys and Indians, cops and robbers, and hide and seek were mere dreams for this young boy.  Searching and exploring, he discovered that his sole existing source of identity was within his parents, who were both heroin addicts. Two short years later he discovered marijuana, which opened the doors to a lifestyle of robbery, violence, and darkness.  By the time he was in junior high cocaine and speed had become his chief comforters.  Blayne was expelled from high school after only two short weeks.  Thirteen years Blayne suffered and toiled with the fact that he was nothing more than a drug addict...      

Today, Blayne is the Assisant Director and Induction Coordinator for Teen Challenge of Riverside, the most successful drug and alcohol rehabilitation program in the entire world.  A vital part of the team at TEEN CHALLENGE, Blayne has set the pace in a variety of diverse areas.  From his volunteer work with youngsters at Juvenile Hall to numerous amounts of drug prevention presentations in the public school systems across California, Blayne's priorities are firmly fixed on God and His people.

Just recently, Blayne was nominated and received an award for his service through Teen Challenge.  Named by the Jaycee foundation as one of the "Outstanding Young Californians of 2004", Blayne was applauded along with eight other honorees for their efforts in their prospective communities.  Blayne passionately asserts, "If it was not for the Lord and what He performed in my life through Teen Challenge, I would not be the man I am today." 

This Teen Challenge graduate is now the proud parent of 2 beautiful boys; Troy and Joshua and has been happily married for thirteen years.  For a boy whose dreams were suffocated by the evils of heroin, God definitely had a different dream.  This seems to be a common story here at Teen Challenge as God continually takes what has been destroyed and makes it whole again.
